Many of you may be familiar with Poison, the 80s arena-rock hair-metal band with the big hit “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn.”
But then the singer Bret Michaels got a reality dating show called Rock of Love which was so bad it was good and surely more popular for its sleaze and shock factor than for the fact a musician was even involved. Right around the launch of Rock of Love, Poison put out a covers record. I never listened to it but I was asked to be in their music video for “What I Like About You.” I got to dress up as a cheerleader and jump around. The band actually lived up to their women-luving reputation, flirting with virtually every female on the shoot and then they took us all out to Nobu for fancy sushi, their treat. It was pretty amusing night. And I just found the proof. I show up in around 1:41 and in the yearbook photos. Too funny. M x
Awwh, haha. A memorable performance, Milena!
